Looking for a few good teachers

January 13, 2011

Teachers, here’s your chance to be a tour guide for the prehistoric world.

The County’s Natural History Museum is seeking educators to help craft lesson plans and suggest activities to help students experience and enjoy the Museum’s splendid new Dinosaur Hall.  If you’re a teacher who’s eager to work with museum staff to create some exciting new field trip opportunities, download and complete this simple application. The deadline is January 30. Participants will huddle with museum staff on weekends throughout the spring to brainstorm the new curriculum, and there’s even an honorarium for those selected to join the effort.

NHM’s satellite facility, the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits, offers some additional opportunities, so be sure to specify where you’d like to work. No museum expertise required; it’s all about the teaching, and NHM staff will fill you in on the rest.
